ARTIST STATEMENT
Through stories, we relate, discuss, and dissect a plethora of meanings. We sometimes live vicariously through the setpieces that characters forge through. Said characters, have memorable worlds with fans creating endless webs of theories about what's around the corner.
That is what my work involves, creating concepts - designing worlds and the creatures inhabiting them.
It's something that I've had a passion for since childhood when I was making posters and drawing comics.
My goal is to create something acclaimed and memorable.
DESIGN PHILOSPHY
The development of ideas and the concepts behind stories is something that I admire and part of the reason why I wanted to become a concept artist. My work involves communicating a vision to the rest of the team and get them excited to see what is in the future. I strive to push boundaries with my work, whether it be creating unique environments, cityscapes or character sheets.
The freedom that comes with digital art allows me to create anything I can imagine. However, similar how everyone else has started out, I was exclusively a tradition artist. Sketching every day and pushing myself to think of something outside of the box. Inspiration would come from the world around me. Gesture drawings, landscapes sketches and all-around whacky stuff is what I’d work on. All the sketching contributed to me becoming accustomed to banging out quick ideas. Years later, when I started painting digitally, I studied the fundamentals of rendering and the whole world of digital art. There's a ton of potential to be grasped and I wanted to work towards realizing it.
While on the journey of improvement, I hope to contribute to projects along the way.
